So, I heard this song in TopShop one day. Well, I heard some of it, at which point I pulled out my blackberry, wrote down whatever lyrics I could and googled it at home.
I love love love it, so naturally I decided to do a cover.
The more observant among you will notice that the picture quality is about a gazzillion times better than my previous videos and that’s because stephen suggested we use his awesome camera instead of my slightly less awesome one (disclaimer: I do love my little camera and chances are it’ll be back).
Anyway, here it is- H.D and all- enjoy!
Ah nice one, it’s almost Christmas.
This year has been a good one for me, I started this blog back in January and granted, I may be guilty of slacking a bit but for the most part I’m gonna go ahead and pat myself on the back.
My super talented friend Ben did this rearrangement of Hark the Herald Angels Sing and got myself and Stephen involved.
Hope you like it and I also hope that the end of 2011 is a great one for you.
As far as music goes, next year will be a good one for me. I can feel it in my little toes.

This Town
So if you’ve watched any of my recent videos, you would have noticed a white guy with dreads.
His name is Stephen and he’s pretty cool.
This week I went over to record the backing vocals for his song This Town.
I don’t wanna give too much away but there’s a saxophone and a double bass involved.
It’s gonna be awesome.

LONDON RIOTS/ CANCELLED GIGS
For those of you who don’t know, London is hurting so badly right now. Our youth have started riots that have destroyed people’s lives and made it unsafe to be outside at night in some areas. I was supposed to be playing at a rather lovely evening tonight but I dont know if I’ll be able to get home safely so I’m NOT playing today. It’s still going ahead and you can watch the remaining acts online or go if you can get home safe. I’ll let you know about my gig on the 12th but so far its still going on.
Totally gutted.

Life Without Regret
Well isn’t that title a bit ironic. Hmm.. so as promised here is the first song I ever recorded and at the time I was quite proud of it. I have to admit it doesn’t sound too bad. Just some of the lyrics…a bit of the vocal… oh and the piano line… I think maybe its the fact that I tend to hate all of my work after some time. That might be an internal issue…

Epic Fail

So I may not be the sharpest crayon in the box but considering the amount of work I still have to do on this track, even I can see it won’t be ready on the 12th. Not even with the most wishfull thinking (-_-). So because I’m a woman of my word (if you don’t know what I’m talking about read this first) I’m going to change the rules. HA. Ok I’m liking what I’ve done so far so I really want you to hear the finished version.
Here’s my check list:

Base Guitar- Meh.. almost done
Guitar- Nope
Vocals- Nope
Mixing- Nope
Hmm… So instead tomorrow I’m going to bring out a song that I personally don’t like. It was my first recording EVER from like a year ago, maybe even more. It was on myspace for a little while where it gathered all of 33 ‘listens’ before I deleted my page.
This is a very personal thing I’m doing right now.. because I’d rather not. Ah well. Let me know what you think, don’t be too brutal.
That makes up for everything doesn’t it?

I’ve been told I make too many of them. I was about to excuse myself from that but I’ve decided, instead, to listen. Only thing is once you’ve listened you’re expected to change (-_-) So, in keeping with change I’m gonna do something very uncharacteristic-y and give you a date. 12th July to be exact.
I will have my next song for you then. Come rain or shine, heaven or the other thing, I will put out whatever I have on that day.
This is good for me because I’m the type of person who runs on island time when it comes to my music. If I’m not happy- it won’t go up and yes being a perfectionist is well and good for standards but it sucks like a hoover when it comes to deadlines.
So here’s hoping I don’t just have a timer track and a piano solo for you in two weeks because I haven’t even started yet…
